FAQS

What is Superbloom?

Next Summer the Tower of London will mark the Queen's platinum jubilee by transforming the Tower's moat into a wild flower meadow in a bid to create a biodiverse wildlife haven in the middle of the city.

This will be the first stage of a permanent transformation of the moat into a new, more natural landscape.

Can I go into the moat with the flowers?

Yes! To enter the moat and experience the flowers up close, you will need either a Superbloom-only ticket or a combined Superbloom + Tower of London ticket.

Can I visit the Tower of London at the same time as Superbloom?

Yes! To enjoy the whole experience of Superbloom in the moat and explore the iconic Tower of London, you will need the Superbloom +Tower of London ticket option.

Can I see the flowers from Tower Hill?

Yes, you can view the flowers from the Public Viewing Path, but as space is restricted, you will need to book a free of charge Public Viewing Path ticket.

If you are booking a Superbloom-only ticket or a combined Superbloom + Tower of London ticket, you will get a great view of the moat from above from a designated viewing area, so you probably won't feel that you need an additional Public Viewing Path ticket.

Visit information

How long will it take to walk through the Superbloom experience in the moat?

The walk-through experience is expected to take around 30 minutes.

Is there a time limit to how long I can stay?

No, however this is a walk-through experience along a narrow, snaking path.

Is there seating in the moat?

Yes, there are a limited number of benches located in the moat for those with mobility issues.

Can I go out and come back in?

No, it's a one-way route with timed entry.

Can I get in quickly if I can't queue?

Not unless you have particular access requirements which make queueing difficult. If that is the case, please speak to one of our team when you arrive.

What happens if I'm late?

You can arrive at any time within your chosen timeslot, but if you cannot make this allotted time, the admissions team will try their best to accommodate you in the next available timeslot.

Please be aware that timeslots on the day may be fully booked and this cannot always be guaranteed.

Where can I leave my bag while visiting the Tower and Superbloom?

For security reasons, we are not able to offer left luggage facilities at the Tower of London or Superbloom. Please find alternate arrangements for large bags. Rucksacks are to be kept with you at all times during your visit, and all bags will be subject to a security check prior to gaining admission.

To find out the nearest left luggage facility, please visit https://www.visitlondon.com/traveller-information/essential-information/baggage-left-luggage

Do you have a buggy park facility?

The Superbloom walk-through experience is step-free and those with buggies are able to push them along the paths. There is no buggy park facility for Superboom within the moat. However, for those visiting the Tower of London there are a limited number of buggy parks within the walls.

Are there particular places to take photos of the moat from above?

Tower of London ticket holders and Superbloom ticketholders will be given access to a dedicated viewing area on Tower Hill which allows wonderful aerial view of Superbloom and the castle on arrival.

There is also a Public Viewing Path where visitors can get a scenic aerial view of Superbloom from outside of the moat. This path has limited space, so we are running a timed-ticket system to ensure it is a safe and comfortable experience for all. Tickets for the Public Viewing Path are free of charge but we strongly recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment. Views of the moat from outside of the Public Viewing Path are highly restricted, so pre-booking a Public Viewing Path ticket is essential to guarantee a good view of Superbloom from outside the moat.

Are toilet facilities provided for visitors?

Yes, during Superbloom, toilets will be available on the Wharf for use at the beginning or end of the Superbloom walk-through experience. Please note that there are no toilets within the moat itself.

For Tower of London ticketholders, toilets are available at the following locations:
• Brick Tower, behind the Jewel House (male, female, accessible toilets and baby changing facilities)
• Salt Tower (male toilets)
• Cradle Tower (female and accessible toilets)
All toilets have disabled access and baby changing facilities.

Changing Places toilet: Ground floor lobby of New Armouries building next to the café. Access to the toilet is via radar key. (A key can be obtained from café staff, to be returned after use.)

Can I bring a Blue Badge Guide?

Blue Badge Guides will not be allowed to guide tours inside the moat due to the space limitations.

When will the flowers be at their best?

It will be an evolving natural display, there will not be a single best time to view Superbloom.

Access

I have mobility issues, is Superbloom accessible?

Yes, there is step-free access throughout the Superbloom experience with ramps into and out of the moat.

Are any wheelchairs / mobility aides provided for visitors with access needs?

We have a small number of wheelchairs available for Tower and Superbloom visitors that can be used on a first come, first served basis and cannot be pre-booked. To hire one of these free of charge please speak to a member of our team on arrival.
